Accessibility statement

TrailNights should be usable by everyone planning a trip, including people who browse with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnified text or reduced motion. This page says what we have done, what we have not, and how to reach us.

The standard

We work to Israeli Standard IS 5568, which follows the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at level AA, as the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013 require. The Hebrew and English sites are held to the same bar.

What is in place

  • Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline, and the first Tab press offers a link that skips straight to the content.
  • Each page declares its language and reading direction, so screen readers pronounce Hebrew and English correctly and the layout mirrors properly right to left.
  • Text and buttons meet the AA contrast ratio of 4.5:1 in both the light and the dark theme. The brand colour was darkened on 25 October 2026 to get there.
  • Text can be enlarged to 200% with the browser's zoom without content being cut off or overlapping.
  • Motion respects your system's "reduce motion" setting, and the "Reduce motion" switch at the bottom of every page turns animation off on this site alone, including the falling leaves and snow between pages.
  • Images that carry meaning have text alternatives, decorative ones are hidden from screen readers, and every form field has a label.

What is not accessible yet

  • The interactive trip map cannot be explored with a screen reader. Everything it shows - each day's stops, huts and distances - also appears as text in the itinerary beside it.
  • Booking links open partner sites such as hotels, airlines and hut reservation systems. Their accessibility is theirs, and we cannot vouch for it.

Tell us

If something on the site is hard or impossible to use, write to hello@trailnights.com with the page and what happened. We answer accessibility requests within five working days, and if a fix will take longer we will say so and get you the information another way.
