TrailNights earns a commission when you book through some of the links in an itinerary. Today that means Aviasales, Hotellook, Tiqets, Kiwitaxi, Airalo, EKTA.
We also link to Booking.com, Kiwi.com, Viator, GetYourGuide, DiscoverCars. Those pay us nothing today - either we hold no account with them yet, or the programme has not opened. The links are there because they are still the right place to book.
Mountain hut bookings and Alpine club membership - hut-reservation.org, the Alpine clubs' membership pages (DAV, ÖAV, SAC) - earn us nothing, and never will. No Alpine club pays a commission on a bed. Those links carry a tag so the clubs can see which visitors came from here, and that is the whole of what we get from them.
It never changes what we recommend. The itinerary is generated before any link exists: the planner returns what to book, and links are attached afterwards from that. It has no knowledge of which partners pay more, because commercial terms are never part of what it sees.
You never pay more for booking through us. Commission comes out of the partner's margin, not your fare.
Links that earn us nothing are marked the same as any other. A restaurant opens in Maps because there is nothing to sell you, not because we forgot.
